SSC CGL 2019

SSC CGL is considered to be one of the biggest requirement examinations for graduate students in India. SSC conducts SSC CGL Examination every year to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and its Subordinate Offices. The CGL 2019 Preliminary Exam is expected to be conducted in March 2020, the vacancies for which were not announced by the SSC. SSC Recruitment

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for the recruitment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in various Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices. The exam is held in 4 stages. While the first two are Computer Based Test the latter two are offline exams. The entire process of registration and communication happens online through the official website of SSC CGL that is an SSC Website. Candidates must qualify each stage of the SSC CGL Exam to proceed to the next one, before being finally selected.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) every year in Four Tiers for various posts. Exam Pattern - The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Before beginning the SSC CGL preparation, it is important to make note of changes in exam pattern and syllabus. The modifications to SSC CGL Exam Pattern for Tier 1 & 2 are given below:

Tier I Exam Pattern:

Note-II: In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.

Note-III: In Tier-II, Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts.

Note-IV: In Tier-II, Paper-III will be for only those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for this Post/ Paper.

Note-V: In Tier-II, Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-IV i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

SSC CGL Syllabus

Syllabus for Tier I:

Questions on ‘General Intelligence and Reasoning’ will be non-verbal considering the functions attached to the post. Questions on Numerical Aptitude and General English will be simple, of a level that an average matriculate will be in a position to answer comfortably. Questions on General Awareness will be also of similar standard

There are different important criteria which a candidate must fulfill in order to be eligible for the SSC CGL. The parameters are given below:

3. Educational Qualification: The educational qualifications varies according to the post for SSC CGL and is listed below:

4. Physical Requirements: Apart from the above, there are certain requisite Physical Standards for Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency).

Physical Requirement

Physical standards for the post of Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer), Inspector & Sub-Inspector in CBN:

Male Candidate:

(i) Physical Standards:

Height 157.5 cm.

Chest 81 cm (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.)

Height relaxable by 5 cm in the case of Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Scheduled Tribes.

(ii) Physical Test:

Walking: 1600 metres in 15 minutes.

Cycling : 8 Kms. In 30 minutes.

Female Candidate:

(i) Physical Standards:

Height: 152 cms.

Weight: 48 Kgs.

Height relaxable by 2.5 cms.

Weight relaxable by 2 Kg. for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese and members of Scheduled Tribes.

(ii) Physical Test:

Walking: 1 Km. in 20 minutes.

Cycling : 3 Kms. in 25 minutes.

SSC CGL Application Fee

• The required application fee is Rs. 100/-

• Exemption: No fee is required to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates

• Applications fee should be pay only through SBI either in the form of Offline Challan or through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. Challan form will be generated online

• To pay fee in cash, candidate should take print out of Challan generated online after the completion of Part-1 registration. Deposit the requisite fee in any branch of SBI and then continue with the Part-2 registration

• Those candidates who want to pay online can go directly to part-2 registration after completion of part-1 registration. Candidate must supply registration number and date of birth to continue to Part-2 registration
